London, July 2016. The Chairman of the Portuguese Centenary Appeal, Anthony Bailey called on The Lord True, Leader of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on 20 July 2016 at the Town Hall in Twickenham.
Discussions were held on the importance of the recently launched Portuguese Centenary Appeal and the prospect of future events and projects which could be incorporated into the Appeal’s programme which focused on promoting both the national ties between Britain and Portugal and the civic ties between Sintra and Richmond upon Thames. A letter was also personally delivered to Lord True from the Mayor of Sintra.
York House in Twickenham was previously the home where Queen Maria Amelia of Portugal, the mother of King Manuel II, was born.
Councillor Clare Head also attended the meeting.
