Lisbon, February 2019 – The Minister of Culture of the Portuguese Republic, Dr Graça Fonseca, has joined the Portuguese Appeal Honorary Committee, reinforcing the importance of this initiative between Portugal and the United Kingdom. Portuguese Appeal President Anthony Bailey, Vice-President Francisco de Mendia and sculptor Luís Valadares met with the Minister on 20 February 2019 at the Ministry of Culture in Lisbon and presented the Portuguese Appeal project as well asa model of the statue of the King Manuel II which will be unveiled in Richmond and Sintra.
The Minister readily accepted the invitation to participate in the Portuguese Appeal committee headed by the President and Vice-President.
