London, April 2018. The unveiling of the new windows will take place on Monday 9 April 2018 at St James’s Church, 61 Popes Grove, Twickenham, TW1 4JZ, at 12 noon. This date marks the Centenary Anniversary of the Battle of the Lys.

The windows will serve to honour and commemorate the Portuguese soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the First Wold War, making it the first memorial dedicated to the Portuguese fallen of the Great War in Britain.

His Eminence Vincent Cardinal Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, will be the principal celebrant at the Mass. The windows will be unveiled by Field Marshal Lord Guthrie and HE Mr Manuel Lobo Antunes, Ambassador of Portugal to the Court of St James’s.

The unveiling of the windows will be followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
